PCfun.ro: $2m from online sales
PCfun.ro, an online retailer, registered a turnover worth $2m in the first six months of this year, from the sale of electronic, IT and communications products. Of these, LCD screens and TV sets, accounted for the bulk of sales, claiming 20% of the revenues. Sales of notebooks, photo and video cameras accounted for 15% and 12%, respectively, of the H1 revenues. This year, PCfun.ro targets a turnover worth $7.5m (5.6m euros), almost four times higher than last year, when the company reported revenues worth $2m (1.5m euros). According to Traian Cristea, CEO with PCfun.ro, this year the store wants to gain a 6% share of the online retail market on the segments covered by PCfun.ro. The store expects to generate revenues above $20m (14.6m euros) amid the expansion of its product portfolio and the favourable development of the market. Marius Ghenea, the chairman and owner of Fit Distribution, the IT distribution firm that owns PCfun.ro, previously estimated the domestic online retail market would double this year, to approximately 100m euros.
